Grove Impact is a shop of offset and conservation projects, specifically researched and curated by our sustainability team to provide the Grove community with opportunities to contribute towards high-impact environmental causes.
The shop aims to provide our customers with access to unique projects through our collection of vetted partner organizations, ranging from conservation to reforestation to plastic collection and carbon offsets. Many projects are not publicly available, or require larger purchase quantities rather than the small increments available on our site. Grove will aggregate customer purchases to each partner and make monthly contributions to the named projects in the shop. We are working with each partner organization to find ways to report out on the Grove community’s impact - whether through customized websites or social media - and will share more when we can.
How does it work?
Selecting and giving back to one of our non-profit organizations is simple. We have worked with our partners to identify various levels of contributions and how they match to individual activities or amounts.
Through the Grove Impact Shop, customers will be able to add projects to their cart the way they would a typical product including through standard check out. Simply go to the project of your choice, pull the drop-down menu to select the level you would like to support, and add to your cart. Purchases will appear in order history, but there will be nothing physically included in each Grove box. Purchases made in the Grove Impact shop are either services in the form of carbon/plastic offsets or contributions made to a specific project.
Grove will track each purchase made by customers within the Grove Impact Shop and aggregate donations to named organizations on a monthly basis. We are unfortunately unable to send individual receipts of contribution beyond your Grove order receipt at this time but look forward to sharing out on aggregated impact made by the Grove community each month.
What projects are in the Grove Impact Shop?
The projects in the Grove Impact Shop are run by our vetted partners across Grove’s priority focus areas of: wildlife and forest conservation, preventing plastic pollution, and planet/climate health. We worked with the partners to carefully select the project areas of high need and impact.
Can I donate or purchase directly to/from each project outside of Grove?
Generally, yes, but this depends on the project partner.
- Customers can absolutely donate to non-profit organizations directly and we welcome your support for their critical work! Please note that (unless otherwise noted) direct contributions will typically go towards general funds, rather than specific projects as earmarked by the Grove Impact Shop.
- Customers can typically purchase offsets directly through our named offset providers for both carbon and plastic offsets, however the specific projects included within the Grove Impact Shop are typically reserved for corporate customers and not individual purchases.
- Please also note that the amounts offered on the site are not typically quantities available for purchase (for example, we will offer incremental carbon offsets rather than requiring a full ton).
We hope that this shop will facilitate contributions towards high-impact causes, and encourage our community to learn more about our vetted networks of partners. We welcome our customers to make any direct donations or offset purchases with these incredible groups.
Will I get a certificate of donation or something in my box?
While we considered including a recycled paper card detailing project details to each customer Grove box, we ultimately decided not to, in order to minimize environmental impact. We are working on creative ways to share both individual and community impact and hope to have more details soon!
There will be a record in your order history, however we are unable to provide each customer with a specific donation record. This is primarily as a result of the way the process works - which is that we are aggregating customer purchases to make one larger contribution on behalf of the Grove community. We are working with each partner organization to publish updates on the Grove community’s impact via customized websites, or social media and will work to report out as soon as we have more to share.
How did Grove determine the pricing? Does all of the profit go to the partner?
Grove is committed to curating this shop with unique and specific offerings that are not always publicly available, as well as vetting partner organizations. Pricing for each of the projects varies by level and by partner with a portion of each purchase dedicated to the maintenance of this program, and our commitment to offer high-impact, high-quality impact projects to the Grove community.
