Have you ever been confused about what to do with a product once you are done with it? You aren’t alone! Oftentimes, it isn’t clear if the material should go into the trash can, the recycling bin, or the compost pile. How2Recycle, an initiative launched by the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, was created to help minimize that confusion by clearly communicating recycling instructions.
We believe in the power of education. Through our partnership with How2Recycle, you will find informative labels on our products to make sure you are diverting packaging waste correctly. Often products containing ambiguous recycle symbols or recycle numbers are not truly curbside recyclable in most locations. All Grove made products, as well as some other brands we offer, carry the How2Recycle logo on them to reduce confusion and create a clear, well understood, and nationally standardized label to help you properly recycle your packaging.
With transparency comes continuous improvement. You may have noticed that our tubes carry the “Do Not Recycle” logo. This is because the recycling infrastructure in the US is currently unable to fully clean and recycle plastic tubes, even though they are made of recyclable material. Oftentimes retailers will encourage individuals to recycle tubes, which is misleading since they are not accepted in curbside recycling programs. Through How2Recycle, we aim to educate consumers about these nuances while we work on future solutions to make all packaging readily recyclable and or reusable.
